International Arbiter Workshop in Baku, Azerbaijan - REPORT

workshop june2019 pic02A third workshop within the framework of the FIDE Pilot Project for Training and Certification of the International Arbiters for the 2020 Chess Olympiad was organized in Baku, Azerbaijan by the FIDE Arbiters’ Commission and the Chess Federation of Azerbaijan. The objective was to train and to certify IAs who are up-to-date on the recent changes in the Laws of Chess and the FIDE Competition Rules and are able to communicate in English efficiently to be integrated into multinational arbiter teams in FIDE events.

This International Arbiter Workshop took place on June 21-24 under the patronage of FIDE Vice-President Mahir Mammedov. Mr. Mammedov opened the workshop and personally welcomed participants from four federations.

Twenty-five arbiters from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia and Ukraine took part in the event. The Lecturer was IA/FL Faig Gasanov (AZE); the Assistant Lecturer was IA/IO Vadim Tsypin (CAN). The language of the workshop was Russian. The examination test featured some questions in Russian and the others in English.

International Arbiter Workshop in Tashkent, Uzbekistan - REPORT

This International Arbiter Workshop took place on May 23-26, 2019.
Fifteen arbiters from Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan took part in the event. The Lecturer was IA/IO/FL Husan Turdialiev (UZB); the Assistant Lecturer was IA/IO Vadim Tsypin (CAN). The language of the workshop was Russian. The examination test featured some questions in Russian and the others in English.
 
FIDE ARBITERS' SEMINAR in Saint Lucia

seminar logoA FIDE Arbiters' Seminar is going to be organized from 22/08/2019 to 24/08/2019 in Saint Lucia, by Saint Lucia Chess Federation, under the auspices of FIDE.
The venue of the Seminar will be Rodney Bay in Saint Lucia.
The Lecturer will be IA Aris Marghetis (CAN), FIDE Lecturer.
The language of the Seminar will be English.
The Seminar will give norms and titles of FIDE Arbiter, according to the Regulations for the titles of Arbiters.

FIDE ARBITERS' SEMINAR in Lusaka (Zambia)

seminar logoA FIDE Arbiters' Seminar is going to be organized from 01/08/2019 to 04/08/2019 in Lusaka, Zambia, by the Chess Federation of Zambia, under the auspices of FIDE.
The venue of the Seminar will be the Olympic Youth Development Centre in Lusaka.
The Lecturer will be IA Gunther van den Bergh (RSA), FIDE Lecturer and the Assistant Lecturers will be IA Chanda Nsakanya (ZAM) and IA Aaron Banda (ZAM).
The language of the Seminar will be English.
The Seminar will give norms and titles of FIDE Arbiter, according to the Regulations for the titles of Arbiters.

FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Mandalay (June 2019) - Report

From 12 to 16 June 2019 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Mandalay the Myanmar Chess Federation under the auspices of FIDE. 
The Lecturer was IA And Hamid Bin And Majid (MAS), FIDE Lecturer and the Assistant Lecturer was IA Bong Bunawan (INA).
The language of the Seminar was English.
Eleven (11) arbiters from Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore participated in the Seminar and all of them participated
 in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures.
