FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Baku, Azerbaijan (June 2019) - Report

baku june2019 pic01The FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized by the Chess Federation of Azerbaijan under the auspices of FIDE and the personal patronage of the FIDE Vice-President Mahir Mammedov.
The seminar took place in the office building of the Chess Federation of Azerbaijan on June 23-27, 2019. A total of 29 participants from Azerbaijan and Georgia took part in the Seminar, 21 of them participated in the examination test.
The Chief Lecturer was IA/FL Faig Gasanov (AZE). The Assistant Lecturer was IA/IO Vadim Tsypin (CAN).
The language of the Seminar was Russian, with translation into Azeri available on demand.

65th Internet based FIDE Arbiters' Seminar - Report

seminar logo65th Internet Based FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was held from 11th to 17th June 2019.
It was organized by the Chess Confederation for America, and under the auspices of FIDE.
The Lecturer was IA Santiago Garcia Ramos (MEX) FIDE Lecturer, the Technical Organizer was IA Jorge Vega Fernandez (GUA).
The Language of the Seminar was in Spanish.
Thirty (30) participants are registered from twelve (12) deferent federations attend the seminar, there were from ARG, CHI, COL, CRC, CUB, DOM, ESA, GUY, HON, NCA, PAN and VEN. Twenty-Two (22) of them attended the exam. Seven (7) of them passed the examination test with 80%, which was held after the end of the lectures.

seminar logo63rd Internet Based FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was held from 23th to 30th April 2019.
It was organized by the Chess Federation of Mexico in cooperation with the Iberoamerican Federation for Chess, and under the auspices of FIDE.
The Lecturer was IA Santiago Garcia Ramos (MEX) FIDE Lecturer.
The Language of the Seminar was in Spanish.
Four (4) participants are registered from four (4) deferent federations attend the seminar, there were from ESP, MEX, USA and BOL. All of them attended the exam. One (1) of them passed the examination test with 80%, which was held after the end of the lectures.

International Arbiter Workshop in Baku, Azerbaijan - REPORT

workshop june2019 pic02A third workshop within the framework of the FIDE Pilot Project for Training and Certification of the International Arbiters for the 2020 Chess Olympiad was organized in Baku, Azerbaijan by the FIDE Arbiters’ Commission and the Chess Federation of Azerbaijan. The objective was to train and to certify IAs who are up-to-date on the recent changes in the Laws of Chess and the FIDE Competition Rules and are able to communicate in English efficiently to be integrated into multinational arbiter teams in FIDE events.

This International Arbiter Workshop took place on June 21-24 under the patronage of FIDE Vice-President Mahir Mammedov. Mr. Mammedov opened the workshop and personally welcomed participants from four federations.

Twenty-five arbiters from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia and Ukraine took part in the event. The Lecturer was IA/FL Faig Gasanov (AZE); the Assistant Lecturer was IA/IO Vadim Tsypin (CAN). The language of the workshop was Russian. The examination test featured some questions in Russian and the others in English.

International Arbiter Workshop in Tashkent, Uzbekistan - REPORT
