USA 9th Internet based FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar

seminar_logoIn 17, 18, 24 and 25 September 2011 the 9th Internet based FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was held, organized by the North American Chess Federation, in cooperation with the FIDE Arbiters’ Commission and under the auspices of FIDE.

The lecturer of the seminar was IA Panagiotis Nikolopoulos (GRE), Chairman of the FIDE Arbiters’ Commission and FIDE Lecturer, and assistant lecturer was IA/IO Sevan Muradian (USA), President of the North American Chess Association.

10 Arbiters from USA, Canada and Australia attended the seminar on Internet.

The Lectures were presented through a web-conferencing platform and included three sessions of 6 hours, while in the last session was the examination test, sent and returned by the participants via e-mail.

The following succeeded in the test and will be awarded a norm for the title of FIDE Arbiter, after the approval of the next FIDE Congress:

URUGUAY-PARAGUAY 8th Internet based FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar

seminar_logoFrom 5 to 11 September 2011 the eighth Internet based FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was held, organized by the Confederation of Chess for America in cooperation with the Chess Federations of Uruguay and Paraguay and under the auspices of FIDE.

The lecturer of the seminar was IA Santiago Garcia Ramos (MEX).

The Lectures were in Spanish language.

Twelve (12) Arbiters from Paraguay and Uruguay attended the seminar on Internet.

The following succeeded in the test and will be awarded a norm for the title of FIDE Arbiter, after the approval of the next FIDE Presidential Board:

seminar_logoOn 10 and 11 September 2011 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Lyon, France, by the French Chess Federation and under the auspices of FIDE.

The venue of the Seminar was the IBIS Center Gare Hotel, in Lyon.

The lecturer was IA Stephen Boyd (FRA), FIDE Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer was IA Laurent Freyd (FRA).

The lectures were in French language.

17 people from France and Germany participated in the Seminar and in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures and the following succeeded in the test and will be awarded a norm for the title or the FIDE Arbiter, after the approval of the next FIDE Congress:

The lecturer was IA Mikko Markkula (FIN), FIDE Qualification Commission Chairman and FIDE Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer was IA Lars Bech Hansen (DEN).

The lectures were in English language.

23 people from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands and Poland participated in the Seminar and in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures.

FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Klaksvik, FAROE ISLANDS

seminar_logoFrom 16 to 21 August 2011 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Klaksvik, Faroe Islands, by the Faroese Chess Federation and under the auspices of FIDE.

The Seminar was held parallel to the 2nd Small Nations Chess Championship

The lecturer was IA Mikko Markkula (FIN), FIDE Qualification Commission Chairman and FIDE Lecturer.

The lectures were in English language.

7 people from Faroe Islands, Island and Jersey Islands participated in the Seminar and in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures.

The following succeeded in the test and they will be awarded the title of the FIDE Arbiter (according to the article 3.10 of the Regulations for the titles of Arbiters), after the approval of the next FIDE Congress:
