FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Lisbon, PORTUGAL

seminar_logoFrom 9 to 18 December 2011 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Lisbon, Portugal, by the Portuguese Chess Federation, under auspices of FIDE.

The lecturer was IA Carlos Oliveira Dias (POR), FIDE Lecturer.

The lectures were in Portuguese language.

Nine (9) Arbiters from Portugal participated in the Seminar and in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures and the following succeeded in the test and will be awarded the norm of the FIDE Arbiter and after the approval of the next FIDE Congress:

FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Caldas Novas, BRAZIL

seminar_logoFrom 19 to 25 November 2011 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Caldas Novas, State of Goias, Brazil by the Brazilian Chess Federation and under the auspices of FIDE.

The venue of the Seminar was the "Convention Center of Caldas Novas”.

The lecturer was IA Antonio Bento (BRA), FIDE Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer was IA Roberto Pablyto (BRA).

The Seminar was organized parallel to the World Youth Championships 2011.

The lectures were in Portuguese language.

26 Arbiters from Brazil, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal and Venezuela participated in the Seminar and in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures.

The following succeeded in the test and they will be awarded a norm for the FIDE Arbiter title, after the approval of the next FIDE Presidential Board:

FIDE Arbiters' Seminar in London, ENGLAND

seminar_logoFrom 5 to 9 December 2011 a FIDE Arbiters' Seminar was organized in London, England, by Chess in Schools and Communities and the Chess Arbiters' Association, in cooperation with the English Chess Federation and under the auspices of FIDE.

The venue of the Seminar was the Olympia Conference Centre, Kensington, London.

The Lecturers were IA Alex McFarlane (SCO), FIDE Lecturer, and IA David Sedgwick (ENG), FIDE Lecturer.

The lectures were in the English language.

Two (2) people from Scotland and Latvia participated in the Seminar and in the examination test held after the lectures. Both succeeded in the test and, as indicated below, they will be awarded a FA Norm or the FA Title (according to Art 3.10 of the Regulations for the Titles of Arbiters) after the approval of the next FIDE Presidential Board.

EL SALVADOR 12th Internet based FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar

seminar_logoFrom 21 to 27 November 2011 the 12th Internet based FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was held, organized by the Confederation of Chess for America in cooperation with the Chess Federation of El Salvador and under the auspices of FIDE.

The lecturer of the seminar was IA Santiago Garcia Ramos (MEX).

The Lectures were in Spanish language.

Eight (8) Arbiters from El Salvador attended the seminar on Internet.

The following succeeded in the test and will be awarded a norm for the title of FIDE Arbiter, after the approval of the next FIDE Presidential Board:

seminar_logoFrom 3 to 6 November 2011 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Novokuznetsk, Russia, by the Russian Chess Federation and under the auspices of FIDE.

The lecturer was IA Alexander Shaab (RUS), FIDE Lecturer, and Assistant lecturers were IA Alexander Khasin (RUS) and Maxim Ivakhin (RUS).

The lectures were in Russian language.

12 National Arbiters from Russia participated in the Seminar and 5 of them participated in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures. The following succeeded in the test and will be awarded a norm for the FIDE Arbiter title and after the approval of the next FIDE Presidential Board:
