FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Johannesburg, SOUTH AFRICA

seminar_logoFrom 7 to 10 December 2010 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Johannesburg, South Africa, by the Chess Federation of South Africa and under auspices of FIDE.

The lecturer was IA Werner Stubenvoll (AUT), Councilor of the FIDE Arbiters’ Commission.

24 arbiters from South Africa participated in the seminar.

All of them participated in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures.

The following sixteen (16) succeeded in the test and will be awarded the title of the FIDE Arbiter, according the article 3.10 of the Regulations for the titles of the arbiters and after the approval of the next FIDE Congress:

COSTA RICA Internet based FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar

seminar_logoFrom 29 November to 5 December 2010 the second Internet based FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was held, organized by the Confederation of Chess for America in cooperation with the Chess Federation of Costa Rica, and under the auspices of FIDE.

The lecturer of the seminar was IA Santiago Garcia (MEX).

The Lectures were presented through a web-conferencing platform and lasted for 32 hours.

Eight (8) Arbiters from Costa Rica attended the seminar on Internet.

 

The following three (3) succeeded in the test and will be awarded a norm for the title of FIDE Arbiter, after the approval of the next FIDE Congress:

FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Abu Dhabi, UAE

seminar_logoFrom 13 to 16 December 2010 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Abu Dhabi, UAE, by the Abu Dhabi Chess Club, in cooperation with the Sports Care Program and the UAE Chess Federation and under the auspices of FIDE.

The lecturers were IA Mahdi Abdulrahim (UAE), Councilor of the FIDE Arbiters’ Commission and IA Casto Abundo (PHI), Deputy President of the Asian Chess Federation.

The language of the Seminar was English and Arabic.

24 people from seven different Federations participated in the seminar.

All of them participated in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures.

The following thirteen (13) succeeded in the test and will be awarded the title of the FIDE Arbiter (according the article 3.10 of the Regulations for the titles of the arbiters) or a norm for the FIDE Arbiter title, after the approval of the next FIDE Congress:

FIDE Arbiters' Seminar in Colombo, Sri Lanka

From 3 to 7 December 2010 a FIDE Arbiters' Seminar was organized in Colombo, Sri Lanka, by the Sri Lanka Chess Federation, in cooperation with CACDEC and under auspices of FIDE.
The lecturer was IA Casto Abundo (PHI), Deputy President of the Asian Chess Federation, and Assistant lecturer was IA Luxman Wijesuriya (SRI), member of the FIDE Arbiters' Commission.
24 people from Sri Lanka and Maldives participated in the seminar.
All of them participated in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures.
The following eighteen (18) succeeded in the test and will be awarded the title of the FIDE Arbiter (according the article 3.10 of the Regulations for the titles of the arbiters) or a norm for the FIDE Arbiter title, after the approval of the next FIDE Congress:

FIDE Arbiters' Seminar in Oppenau, GERMANY

seminar_logoFrom 11 to 14 November 2010 a FIDE Arbiters' Seminar was organized in Oppenau, Germany, by the German Chess Federation and under auspices of FIDE.

The venue of the Seminar was the Hotel Wasserfall in Oppenau.

The lecturers were IA Werner Stubenvoll (AUT) and IA Klaus Deventer (GER), Councilors of the FIDE Arbiters' Commission and Assistant lecturer was IA Juergen Kohlstaedt (GER).

The lectures were in German language.

21 National Arbiters from Germany, Netherlands and Switzerland participated in the seminar.

All of them participated in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures.

The following fifteen (15) succeeded in the test and will be awarded a norm for the FIDE Arbiter title, after the approval of the next FIDE Congress:
