The 87th Internet based FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar is going to be organized from 18/09/2020 to 27/09/2020 by Chess South Africa, under the auspices of FIDE.
The Lecturer will be IA van den Bergh, Gunther (RSA), FIDE Lecturer and the Assistant Lecturer will be IA de Winnaar, Benjamin (RSA).
The language of the Seminar will be English.
The Seminar will give norms and titles of FIDE Arbiter, according to the Regulations for the titles of Arbiters.

Friday 18 September 2020 (Session 1)
Saturday 19 September 2020 (Session 2)
Sunday 20 September 2020 (Session 3)
Friday 25 September 2020 (Session 4)
Saturday 26 September 2020 (Session 5)
Sunday 27 September 2020 (Exam)

Exact session times not yet fixed but planned as follows:  4 hours per day (two 2-hour sessions).  The exam on the 27th will be written online (google docs with a fixed time setter).

The 90th Internet based FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar is going to be organized from 26/09/2020 to 04/10/2020 by the Barbados Chess Federation, under the auspices of FIDE.
The Lecturer will be IA/IO Bond, Hal (CAN), FIDE Lecturer and the Assistant Lecturer will be IA Daniel, Kelvin (BAR).
The language of the Seminar will be English.
The Seminar will give norms and titles of FIDE Arbiter, according to the Regulations for the titles of Arbiters.

Day One – September 26th
a) The Role of the Arbiter. Laws of Chess (including Rapid and Blitz)
b) FIDE Competition Rules and standards of chess equipment

Day Two – September 27th
c) System of Games, tie breaks.
d) Swiss system and pairing rules.

Day Three – October 3rd
e) Regulations for the rating and the over‐the‐board titles.
f) Regulations for the titles of the Arbiters.
g) On line Arbiting

Day Four – October 4th
h) Anti‐cheating guidelines for Arbiters.
