FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) – Report
From 23rd to 26th July 2026, a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), by the Ethiopia Chess Federation, under the auspices of FIDE.
The Lecturers were IA/IO Dervieux, Dominique (FRA), FIDE Lecturer, and the Local Assistant Lecturer was IA Nugusse, Dejen Zelalem (ETH).
The language of the Seminar was English with translation into French.
Eleven (11) arbiters from four (4) national chess federations (DJI, ETH, KEN, and UGA) participated in the Seminar and nine (9) participated in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures.
The following succeeded in the test and they will be awarded a norm for the title of the FIDE Arbiter, after the approval of the next FIDE Council:
