Jens Wolter

Jens Wolter is an International Arbiter and International Organizer from Germany. As a FIDE Lecturer he also works in the training of arbiters. When he gained his IA title in 2012 at the age of 24, he was the youngest arbiter in Germany to achieve this title. In 2018 he promoted to A-category. He is Rating Officer of Germany since 2017 and member of the FIDE Arbiters’ Commission since 2020.

He worked as an arbiter in several FIDE events such as the FIDE World Rapid & Blitz Championship 2015 in Berlin. In 2016 and 2018 he was Deputy Chief Arbiter of the FIDE World Senior Team Championship in Radebeul. His most important appointment so far was as Chief Arbiter of the FIDE Grand Prix Tournament 2019 in Hamburg.

Furthermore, he has experience as an arbiter in many international tournaments. For instance, he was Deputy Chief Arbiter of the famous Biel Chess Festival in 2015 and 2017. He is Chief Arbiter of the GRENKE Chess Festival in Karlsruhe from its beginning in 2016. In 2019 more than 2000 players participated, including World Champion Magnus Carlsen.
