FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Penang (ASEAN) – Report
From 5th to 8th July 2025, a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Penang, by the ASEAN Chess Confederation, under the auspices of FIDE.
The Lecturer was IA Nikolopoulos, Panagiotis (GRE), FIDE Lecturer, and Assistant Lecturers were IA Leong, Ignatius (LAO), and IA Bunawan, Bong (INA), both FIDE Lecturers.
The language of the Seminar was English. The Seminar was in hybrid format, as the Lecturer was giving his lectures online, while both the Assistant Lecturers and all the participants were present in the venue.
Twelve (12) participants from 5 (five) national federations (CAM, INA, MAS, SGP, and VIE) participated in the Seminar and all of them participated in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures.
The following succeeded in the test and they will be awarded a norm for the title of the FIDE Arbiter, after the approval of the next FIDE Council:
