The 137th Internet-based FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar is going to be organized from 09/11/2026 to 13/11/2026 by the Brazilian Chess Federation, under the auspices of FIDE.
The Lecturer will be IA de San Vicente, Sabrina (URU), FIDE Lecturer and Local Assistant Lecturer will be IA/IO Macedo, Maximo Igor (BRA).
The language of the Seminar will be Portuguese.
The Seminar will give norms and titles of FIDE Arbiter, according to the Regulations for the titles of Arbiters.
Schedule:
Online sessions from Monday, 9 November 2026, to Friday, 13 November 2026, from 19:00 to 23:00 Brasilia time (UTC-3), total 20 hours.
Monday to Thursday:
16 hours of lectures and practical content: Laws of Chess, including Rapid and Blitz (4h); Tournament Rules (0.5h); Systems of Games and Tie-breaks (2.5h); Swiss System and Pairing Rules (1.5h); Rating Regulations and Over-the-board Titles (2h); English terms (1h); Regulations for the Titles of Arbiters (1h); Anti-cheating Guidelines for Arbiters (1.5h); Duties of the Arbiters (1h); questions and review (1h). Friday: final examination and related procedures (4h).
