22nd and 23rd IA Seminars are open for registration!

Dear chess arbiters and especially FIDE arbiters,

According to the FIDE Regulations for the training of chess arbiters, starting from January 1st 2024, each application for IA arbiter requires one norm from IA Seminar. The duration of the IA Seminar shall be a minimum of sixteen (16) hours.

In 2024 and 2025, the ARB Commission organized nineteen IA seminars with 442 FIDE arbiters.

Considering the great interest in IA Certification Seminars, we are pleased to announce the organization 22nd and 23rd seminar in January / February 2026.

Based on feedback from all participants, lecturers and arbiters, the Education Team of the Arbiters’ Commission decided to change the time schedule of the IA seminars. The following IA seminars will also last 16 hours but will be held in 4 sessions (one per day, two weekends) of 4 hours each.

3rd January: 15.30 to 19.30 CET
4th January: 15.30 to 19.30 CET
10th January: 15.30 to 19.30 CET
11th January: 15.30 to 19.30 CET

23rd On-line IA Seminar will be held in February 21st, 22nd, 28th and March 01st, 2026

21st February: 17.00 to 21.00 CET
22nd February: 17.00 to 21.00 CET
28th February: 17.00 to 21.00 CET
01st March: 17.00 to 21.00 CET

Lecturers for 23rd IA Seminars are IA Jens Walter (GER) and IA Sabrina de San Vicente (URU).
