New Certificates (FA1, IA1) and Applications (FA2, IA2, IA3)
ARB would like to remind all colleagues about the updated FA1 and IA1 certificates, as well as the new version of the FA2, IA2 and IA3 application form.
These certificates can be found in Annex 1 of the B.06 Regulation for the Titles of Arbiters.
What’s new in FA1/IA1?
- The assessing arbiter no longer recommends whether the evaluated arbiter qualifies as an FA/IA or needs more experience. Instead, they confirm that the arbiter’s performance met the required standards for FA/IA
- The new FA1/IA1 certificates must now include the FRS event code(s). If the event is a single tournament, one FRS event code is sufficient. For events with multiple tournaments (e.g., Open A, B, C), all FRS event codes must be listed, and the number of players, federations, and titled players must be totaled accordingly.
- The certificates must also include the dates of both the first and last rounds.
What’s new in FA2/IA2/IA3?
- As known starting in January 2024, candidates for the IA title must attend an IA Certification Seminar. The new IA2 application form now requires details of the seminar to be included.
- FA2/IA2 and IA3 now includes the FRS event code(s) of the events.
