A FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar is going to be organised from 20/02/2026 to 22/02/2026 in Reykjavik, by the Icelandic Chess Federation, under the auspices of FIDE.
The Lecturer will be IA/IO Salama, Omar (ISL), FIDE Lecturer, and the Local Assistant Lecturer will be IA Bjornsson, Gunnar (ISL).
The language of the Seminar will be English.
The Seminar will give norms and titles of FIDE Arbiter, according to the Regulations for the titles of Arbiters.

Friday February 20th
16:00-18:00 Laws of Chess, Basic Rules of Play (2 hours)
18:00-22:00 Laws of Chess, Competitive Rules of Play (4 hours)
Saturday February 21st
10:00-12:00 System of games (45 minutes), Swiss Rules (1 hour), chess clock (15 minutes)
13:00-17:00 Arbiters’ titles (2 Hours), Fair Play guidelines for Arbiters (2 hours)
Sunday February 22nd
09:00-13:00 Titles (2.5 hours) and Ratings regulations (1.5 hours)
14:00-18:00 Examination test (4 hours)
