A FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar is going to be organised from 23/07/2024 to 25/07/2024 in Hull, by the English Chess Federation, under the auspices of FIDE.

The Lecturer will be IA/IO McFarlane, Alex H(SCO), FIDE Lecturer, and Assistant Lecturer will be IA/IO Holowczak, Alex R (ENG), FIDE Lecturer Training Programe.

The language of the Seminar will be English.

The Seminar will give norms and titles of FIDE Arbiter, according to the Regulations for the titles of Arbiters.

Schedule:

23 July:
1000 – 1300: Laws of Chess Part 1
1400 – 1700: Tournament Systems (30 mins), Pairing Systems (90 mins), Tie-Breaks (1 hour)

24 July:
1000 – 1300: Laws of Chess Part 2 (150 mins), Clocks (30 mins)
1400 – 1700: Rating Regulations (1 hour), Title Regulations (1 hour), Anti-Cheating Regulations (30 mins), Competition Rules (30 mins)

25 July:
1000 – 1300: Revision & Practice Questions
1400 – 1800: Exam

A FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar is going to be organised in mixed format from 29/07/2024 to 11/08/2024 in Montreal, Canada, by the Francophone Chess Association / Quebec Chess Federation, under the auspices of FIDE.

The venue of the Seminar will be the Fédération Québécoise des échecs, 7665 boulevard Lacordaire – H1S 2A7 Montréal.

The Lecturer will be IA Freyd, Laurent (FRA), FIDE Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer will be IA Denommee, Pierre (CAN).

The language of the Seminar will be French.

The Seminar will give norms and titles of FIDE Arbiter, according to the Regulations for the titles of Arbiters.

Schedule:

  • 5 sessions of 3 hours courses online (29 & 31 July – 2, 5 & 7 August)
  • followed by 4 sessions of 4 hours face-to-face (9-10-11 August)
