FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Abu Dhabi (UAE) – Report
From 5th to 8th April 2026, a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Abu Dhabi, by the Abu Dhabi Chess Academy and the UAE Chess Federation, under the auspices of FIDE. The seminar took place at the InterContinental Abu Dhabi Hotel.
The Lecturer was IA/IO Abdulrahim, Mahdi (UAE), FIDE Lecturer, and the Local Assistant Lecturer was IA Saeed Al, Khouri (UAE).
The language of the Seminar was Arabic.
Twenty-one (21) arbiters from three (3) national chess federation (EGY, SYR, and UAE) participated in the Seminar and nineteen (19) of them participated in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures.
The following succeeded in the test and they will be awarded a norm for the title of the FIDE Arbiter, after the approval of the next FIDE Council:
