FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Durban, SOUTH AFRICA
From 25 to 28 September 2014 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Durban, South Africa, by the Chess South Africa and under auspices of FIDE.
The venue of the Seminar was the International Convention Center, in Durban.
The lecturer was IA Alex McFarlane (SCO), FIDE Lecturer and Assistant lecturers were IA Gunther van den Berg (RSA) and IA Lara Barnes (ENG).
Eighteen (18) people (7 from South Africa, 5 from Zimbabwe, 1 each from Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia, India, Kenya and Latvia) participated in the Seminar and in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures.
The following succeeded in the test and will be awarded a norm or the title of the FIDE Arbiter and after the approval of the next FIDE Presidential Board:
