FIDE Arbiters` Seminar in Dubai (UAE) – Report

FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was held in UAE-Dubai from 14th to 18th April 2019.

It was organized by the UAE Chess Federation cooperation with Dubai Leaders Qualification Centre, and under the auspices of FIDE. The venue of the seminar was the Leaders Qualification Centre in Dubai.

The Lecturer was FIDE Lecturer IA/IO Mahdi Abdulrahim (UAE) FIDE Rules Commission Chairman and FIDE lecturer IA/IO Casto Abundo (PHI) Executive Director of Asian Chess Federation. The Language of the Seminar was in Arabic & English. Daily lectures 14th – 17th April 2019, from 17.00-21.00 UAE Time (+4 GMT). 18th April 2019 was the examination test.
Twenty-Six (26) participants are registered from ten (10) deferent federations, there were from UAE, KSA, IRQ, EGY, JOR, ALG, SOM, IND, RUS, and PHI. Fifteen (15) of them attended the exam. Twelve (12) of them passed the examination test with 80%, which was held after the end of the lectures in 18th April2019.

The Seminar will give FIDE Arbiter norms and titles, according to the Regulations for the titles of the Arbiters after the approval of the next FIDE Presidential Board meeting.
