FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Antananarivo (Madagascar) – Report

antananarivo april2019 pic01A FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was held in Antananarivo, Madagascar, by the Malagasy Chess Federation, under auspices of FIDE and ACC (April 27th – May 3rd, 2019).
The lecturer was IA MESSAOUDI, Bechirr (5501067), FIDE Lecturer.

Program of the seminar:
27.04 – Day of arrival
28.04 – Laws of Chess (including Rapid, Blitz, etc.)
29.04 Anti cheating guidelines for Arbiters
30.04 – Tournament Rules, System of Games, tie breaks
1.05- Swiss system. Pairing rules, Regulations for the rating and the over-the-board titles,
2.05 Regulations for the titles of the Arbiters, Use of the electronic clocks,
3.05 Examination test.
4.05 – Day of departure

The language of the Seminar was French with translation to English.
Seventeen (17 National Arbiters from two (2) Federations (MAD, MAW) participated in the seminar. Eight (8) of them participated in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures. Eight (8) of them passed the examination test with 80%.

The following succeeded in the test and they will be awarded a norm for the title of the FIDE Arbiter, after the approval of the next FIDE Presidential Board:
