FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Melbourne, AUSTRALIA

seminar_logoFrom 5 to 8 August 2011 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Melbourne, Australia, by the Box Hill Chess Club and the Oceania Chess Federation, and under the auspices of FIDE.

The sponsorship of the Seminar was provided by the Asian Chess Federation.

The venue was the Box Hill Chess Club and the seminar coincided with the Oceania Senior Chess Championship being held there.

The lecturer was IA Gary Bekker (AUS), FIDE Lecturer and Assistant Lecturers were IA Shaun Press (PNG) and IA Charles Zworestine (AUS)

The lectures were in English language.

9 people from Australia and Fiji participated in the Seminar and in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures.

The following succeeded in the test and they will be awarded a norm or the FIDE Arbiter title, after the approval of the next FIDE Congress:
