FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Iwo, Osun State, Nigeria (March 2020) – Report
From 11th to 14th March 2020, a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Iwo, Nigeria, by the Nigeria Chess Federation, under the auspices of FIDE.
In parallel of the seminar was held the first National Championship of Nigeria (both open and women sections) and the closing ceremony happened as the seminar finished on Saturday 14th. Thanks to the Nigeria Chess Federation and its president Lekan Adeyemi, FIDE Vice President, for the organization in good conditions for all participants! The arbiter of the national championship was FA Paul Kehinde Boyo.
The Lecturer was IA Freyd, Laurent (FRA), FIDE Lecturer and the Assistant Lecturer was IA Adeyemi, Olalekan (NGR).
The language of the Seminar was English.
Eighteen (18) arbiters from Nigeria participated in the Seminar and all of them participated in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures.
The following succeeded in the test and they will be awarded norms for the title of the FIDE Arbiter, after the approval of the next FIDE Presidental Board:
