FIDE Arbiters’ Commission releases a new edition of the FIDE Arbiters’ Manual 2022
The FIDE Arbiters’ Commission is pleased to release the edition 2022 of the FIDE Arbiters’ Manual.
This new edition includes some important changes in regulations. Please get familiar with them:
- Chapter 10 is now called FIDE Regulations for arbiters, with new regulations on titles, training, classification and selection of arbiters in FIDE World Events.
- Chapters 6 and 7 reflect the recent changes in the regulations for ratings and titles. They are critical for our colleagues delivering player norms.
Our team also took some time to review some comments and the sample exam questions to adapt them to the recent changes, so that you don’t experience discrepancies between the official text and the concrete examples presented.
The International Arbiter Shohreh Bayat, Councillor of the ARB Commission, was the leader of the project, and she expressed her gratitude to all those who contributed in particular (IA Alex McFarlane, IA Gopakumar MS, IA Juergen Klueners, IA Aris Marghetis, IA David Sedgwick, IA Jens Wolter, and IA Alex Holowczak).
