FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Bordeaux (FRA) – Report

From 2nd to 20th May 2024, a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Bordeaux, by the French Chess Fédération, under the auspices of FIDE.

Splitted in two parts, the seminar permit the candidates to think about Arbitrating Chess during 3 weeks, with 3 zoom-sessions of 3hours courses online, followed by 16 hours face-to-face at ASPOM Chessclub before the 4-hours examination : a perfect training before the examination covering all the subjects.

The Lecturers were IA/IO Dervieux, Dominique (FRA), FIDE Lecturer, and IA Boyd, Stephen (FRA), FIDE Lecturer, and the Local Assistant Lecturer was IA Lapeyre, Pierre (FRA).

The language of the Seminar was French.

Fourteen (14) arbiters from 2 (two) federations (FRA, and CIV) participated in the Seminar and all of them participated in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures.

The following succeeded in the test and they will be awarded a norm for the title of the FIDE Arbiter, after the approval of the next FIDE Council:
