The FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Foz do Iguaçú, Paraná – Brazil is going to be organized from 26/05/2025 to 30/05/2025 by the Confederation of Chess for Americas, under the auspices of FIDE.
The Lecturer will be IA Antonio Bento (BRA), FIDE Lecturer, and the Local Assistant Lecturer will be IA Luciano Rietter (BRA).
The language of the Seminar will be Portuguese.
The Seminar will give norms and titles of FIDE Arbiter, according to the Regulations for the titles of Arbiters.
May 26th – 14h30 Laws of Chess / English chess vocabulary (4 hours)
May 27th – 14h30 Swiss system and pairing rules (3 hours) / Rating FIDE
regulations (1 hour)
May 28th – 14h30 Anti‐cheating guidelines for Arbiters (2 hours) / System
of games, tie breaks (1 hour) / Regulations for the titles of Arbiters (1
hour)
May 29th – 14h30 FIDE Competition Rules and standards of chess
equipment (2 hours) / Use of electronic clocks (30 min) / Over-the-board
titles (1h30)
May 30th – 15h Written Exam (4 hours)
