Chicago Workshop
for the training of International Arbiters
From 30 May to 1 June 2014 a Workshop for the training of the International Arbiters was organized in Skokie, Chicago, Illinois, USA, by the Chess IQ Academy and Chess Center, in cooperation with the FIDE Arbiters’ Commission and under the auspices of FIDE.
The venue of the Workshop was the Chess IQ Academy & Chess Center in Skokie (a suburb of Chicago), while the participants were accommodated at the Holiday Inn Hotel. The lecturers were IA Sevan Muradian (USA), FIDE Lecturer and IA Hal Bond (CAN), FIDE Lecturer. The lectures were in English language. |
The subjects that were discussed during the lectures included the changes of the Laws of Chess that will be in effect from 1 July 2014, the changes in the titles and ratings regulations that are in effect from 1 July 2013 and those that will be in effect from 1 July 2014, the regulations for the titles of Arbiters, the regulations for the Dutch Swiss system, the cheating in Chess and Anti cheating guidelines for the Arbiters and incidents that happened during the games and the Arbiter’s decisions.
Twelve (15) International and FIDE Arbiters from six (6) Federations (USA, Canada, Trinidad and Tobago, British Virgin Islands, Barbados and Sri Lanka ) participated in the Workshop
