New Delhi Workshop

for the training of International Arbiters

From 27 to 29 June 2014 a Workshop for the training of the International Arbiters was organized in New Delhi, by the All India Chess Federation and Asian Chess Federation, in cooperation with the FIDE Arbiters’ Commission and under the auspices of FIDE.

The venue of the Workshop was the conference hall of the Park Plaza Hotel in New Delhi and all the participants were accommodated there.

The lecturers were IA Casto Abundo (PHI), Asian Chess Federation Deputy President and FIDE Lecturer and IA R. Anatharam (IND), FIDE Lecturer.

The lectures were in English language.

The subjects that were discussed during the lectures included the changes of the Laws of Chess that will be in effect from 1 July 2014, the changes in the titles and ratings regulations that are in effect from 1 July 2013 and those that will be in effect from 1 July 2014, the regulations for the titles of Arbiters, the cheating in Chess and Anti cheating guidelines for the Arbiters and incidents that happened during the games and the Arbiter’s decisions.

Twenty five (25) International Arbiters from five (5) Federations (India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Bangladesh) participated in the Workshop and received certificates of attendance after the end of the lectures.
