FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Porto Carras, GREECE

From 22 to 27 October 2010 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Porto Carras, Greece, during the World Youth Chess championships 2010, by the FIDE Arbiters’ Commission, in cooperation with the Greek Chess Federation and the Organizing Committee of the WYCC 2010 and under auspices of FIDE.

The venue of the Seminar was the Olympic Congress Hall of the Meliton Hotel (5*).

The lecturer was IA Panagiotis Nikolopoulos (GRE), Chairman of the FIDE Arbiters’ Commission and Assistant lecturer was IA Mihail Prevenios (GRE), Member of the FIDE Swiss Pairings Committee.

The lectures were in English language.

20 people from 7 Federations ( IND, GRE, NZL, INA, CAN, IRI and VEN ) participated in the Seminar.

16 of them participated in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures and the following eight (8) succeeded in the test and will be awarded a norm or the FIDE Arbiter title (according to the art. 3.10 of the Regulations of the titles of Arbiters) and after the approval of the next FIDE Presidential Board:
