From 26 September to 1 October 2018 a FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar was organized in Batumi, Georgia, by the FIDE Arbiters’ Commission, in cooperation with the Georgian Chess Federation and the Organizing Committee of the 43rd Chess Olympiad, under auspices of FIDE.
The venue of the Seminar was the Meeting Hall of the Hilton Hotel, in Batumi.
The lecturer was IA Stewart Reuben (ENG), FIDE Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer was IA Aris Marghetis (CAN), Secretary of the FIDE Arbiters’ Commission.
49 people from 22 Federations (Kyrgyzstan, Ghana, Tanzania, Lesotho, Georgia, Zambia, Namibia, Bermuda, South Sudan, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Burundi, Libya, Cameroon, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Mongolia, Botswana, Mozambique, Somalia, Central African Republic and Rwanda) attended the seminar and forty five (45) of them participated in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures.
The following succeeded in the test and will be awarded a norm or the title of the FIDE Arbiter, after the approval of the next FIDE Presidential Board:
