85th Internet based FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar (Asian Chess Federation) – Report

The 85th Internet Based FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar (ACF) was held from 16th to 20th October 2020. It was organized by the Asian Chess Federation, under the auspices of FIDE.

Before the start of the seminar, words of welcome and encouragement were given to the students participating in the seminar by GM Victor Bologan, FIDE Executive Director, Laurent Freyd, Chairman of the FIDE ARB, Casto Abundo, Executive Director of the ACF, and Mehrdad Pahlevanzadeh, ACF Treasurer.

The Lecturer was IA/IO Mahdi Abdulrahim (UAE), FIDE Lecturer and Chairman of FIDE RC & ACF Arbiters Commission. The Organizer was Al Taher, Hisham (UAE), ACF General Secretary.

The Language of the Seminar was in Arabic.

Twenty three (23) arbiters from thirteen (13) Federations (EGY, FRA, IRQ, JOR, LBA, MAR, MTN, OMA, PLE, QAT, SYR, UAE, YEM) participated in the Seminar and eighteen (18) participated in the examination test, held after the end of the lectures.

The following succeeded in the test and they will be awarded a norm for the title (or direct title for MTN, OMA and QAT), of the FIDE Arbiter, after the approval of the next FIDE Congress:
