Meeting with continental arbiters’ commissions

As we announced it during our meeting at the 91st FIDE Congress online, the FIDE Arbiters’ Commission organised the first Online Meeting with continental arbiters’ commissions on Monday, 25th January. Chairpersons and secretaries from the FIDE ARB, Africa, America*, Asia and Europe initiated a new habit to reinforce partnership between the 5 organisations in the arbiter sector. (* note: the American Arbiters’ commission is planned to be created in the coming weeks)

Each commission presented their organisation and plans for 2021. Among the various topics covered during the meeting:
– Vision and priorities for 2021
– Open discussion about potential collaboration and projects
– Presentation of the recent online arbiter seminars/certification by the ECU

The FIDE ARB wanted to introduce this opportunity of exchanges and cooperation and this first meeting was successful in that respect. We wish to thank a lot our colleagues from the 4 continental chess association for their active participation and wish long and prosperous cooperation in the future (Stephen Kisuze, Sabrina de San Vicente, Mahdi Abdulrahim, Mehrdad Pahlevanzadeh, Tomasz Delega and Geert Bailleul).

Gens una sumus!
