The Selection of Arbiters in World Events – the new deadline is 15th January!

Dear Chess Friends,

As 2022 starts, the FIDE Arbiters’ Commission would like to wish you and more particularly the arbiters’ community in your federation a healthy, prosperous and successful year in your chess projects!

You were 145 federations taking part in the FIDE Arbiters’ Commission training programme for arbiters in online and hybrid events in 2021 and we would like to renew our gratitude for onboarding more than 500 colleagues worldwide. The support of federations was key to relay the initiative.

On November 11th, we published a call of interest on the FIDE website:https://www.fide.com/news/1430

The number of answers received so far is already very good, with more than 500 answers from 106 federations. However, some leading arbiters and active federations are surprisingly still missing from the answers received, so we feel that we can still do better together! You may view a live update of answers on our website https://arbiters.fide.com/news/6525

We would like to make sure that the new process for the selection of arbiters reaches all eligible arbiters before closing the call. That’s why we decided to reach federations through this email and ask again for your support to relay the communication to your arbiters.

The new deadline for answers is January 15th 2022.

FIDE Arbiters and International Arbiters interested in officiating in World Events may send an email directly from their personal address to secretary.arbiters@fide.com and chairman.arbiters@fide.com with their name, FIDE ID and federation or a link to their FIDE profile, with the subject Call of Interest 2022-2023.

We warmly thank you in advance for your support in this initiative and look forward to seeing colleagues from many federations worldwide involved in FIDE events.

Gens Una Sumus!
