Lecturer Training Programme (LTP)

The Lecturer Training Programme (LTP) is a process that is used by the FIDE Arbiters’ Commission to ensure that those qualifying from it will have the necessary knowledge and skills to teach candidates who wish to become arbiters at FA level and above.

The following have progressed to the final stage of the Lecturer Training Programme:

Gerhard Bertagnoli
Tomek Delega
Tania Karali
Shaun Press
Ana Srebrnic
BH Vasenth

There were 30 applicants initially and from those 12 were invited to a thirty minute interview during which each gave a short presentation. These were evaluated by experienced Lecturers and the final 6 unanimously selected, though the final decision was not easy. Throughout the process some strong candidates were eliminated.

The successful six will now undergo additional instruction involving attending training sessions and assisting at FA seminars.

Anyone who wants to become a Lecturer in the future should watch the Arbiters’ website for the next Call of Interest.

Alex McFarlane (Education Lead) thanks those Lecturers involved in the selection process for their assistance.
