ARB Training Programme – Our team
As one of the main projects of the FIDE Arbiters’ Commission for 2021, the Online and Hybrid Arbiter Training Programme will touch hundreds of arbiters worldwide. Our vision is to have an active role in development and play in team with other commissions, like PDC in the current case.
Every month, the commission meets online. During our meeting of January 2021, the idea of this programme was born. A few weeks later, it had become a real project, supported by the FIDE management and a team was formed.
Our core team for the project has to cover a full range of activities:
- The overall leadership of the project is entrusted to Laurent Freyd, Chairman of the Commission
- Pedagogical aspects are supervised by Alex McFarlane, Education Team Leader
- Organisational and communication aspects are covered by Nebojsa Baralic, Secretary of the Commission
- 4 official FIDE lecturers with strong experience of online events deliver lectures: IA Shohreh Bayat, IA Laurent Freyd, IA Aris Marghetis, IA Omar Salama.
They are all dedicated to provide some content of high quality and motivated to share their experience and knowledge for the benefit of all federations who wish to send their trainees!
